The Grasshopper Myth: Why Kingdom Significance is About More Than Congregational, Building or Budget Size
Saturday, Mar. 11, 2017 9 AM to 2 PM
Join our guest speaker Karl Vaters, author of The Grasshopper Myth, as we explore these important concepts for church leaders: 1) Why size is not always the value we make it in determining significance of ministry; 2) What happens in local communities experiencing healthy Kingdom growth when church leaders are connected in local networks; and 3) How necessary it is for each church to discern their unique calling.
If big churches are the cruise ships on the church ocean, small churches can be the speedboats. They can move faster, maneuver more deftly, squeeze into tighter spaces and have a ton of fun doing it. They just have to see themselves that way.
Karl’s passion is neither to help pastors grow churches bigger or to settle for less. He believes small churches are not a problem, a virtue or an excuse. They just are. And they can be pastored well.
